Ladysmith Family and Friends (LaFF) Family Resource Program is seeking a fun loving, creative and caring individual to join our close-knit team to support our families and deliver quality programming during a variety of LaFF’s activities and programs. This is a casual/on call position – someone who can cover shifts for vacation, illness, summer or any other fill ins where staff are needed.
Main responsibilities will include welcoming families; facilitating programs; encouraging participation by families in all aspects of program; creating and implementing play-based learning activities; maintaining program equipment and representing and promoting LaFF positively within the community.
LaFF’s ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families, combined with formal education in a family centered training program or a willingness to obtain it upon hire. Up to date First Aid and CPR are essential, and a Criminal Record Check must be completed prior to beginning work. The ability to work with a wide range of families and children and be part of a team which creates and nurtures a supportive and caring community environment is essential. Nutritional, Health and Wellness Training, Volunteer Management, and /or Special Event Coordination would be considered an asset.
The successful candidate will be “on call” and will fill in for current part-time staff. Availability for variable daytime and possible evening hours is required. LaFF offers a competitive salary. For more information about LaFF, and to view the full job description visit www.familyandfriends.ca.
