Excitement is building as LaFF’s 19th annual winter celebration nears, and news spreads that the Nov. 26 event is heading back inside Aggie Hall.

The programming offered by Ladysmith Family and Friends is taking on a brand new shape this summer, with the addition of a gazebo at the Nature Play Space above the parking lots of Aggie Hall.

Ladysmith residents look after each other – nowhere is that more true than at LaFF. This holiday season, the organization is putting that sense of community into its holiday fundraiser, with an ‘It Takes a Village’ theme.

Move opens up more opportunities. Vaccination clinics push LaFF to occupy vacant school space. While many other programs were shutting down last spring as the reality of the Covid-19 pandemic became understood, Ladysmith Family and Friends also faced the bleak option of shutting down. Instead, the program didn’t even hesitate to refocus, but immediately pivoted to new ways to reach out and connect with its community.

Activity kits prove to be popular hit! Success of Holiday Cheer kits spurs on additional campaigns. The kits keep coming from Ladysmith Family and Friends. It should come as no surprise the impact of LaFF’s efforts to fundraise and connect with community continues to ripple outward.

New van keeps connections rolling through community. Staff at Ladysmith Family and Friends Resource Program have kept community connections and support rolling despite significant challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
