LaFF is closed during Christmas break, spring break and statutory holidays as well as during school snow-days. For special hours of operation please review our Event Calendar.

Daily Programming includes:

  • Large motor skills area to climb, jump, run, ride, balance and explore in a safe and exciting environment.
  • Brio Train Station to set up and share with new friends.
  • Daily craft Table - what will you create today?
  • Lending Library ... take a book home to enjoy or find a mat or a lap and have a good read.
  • What’s Cooking ... Calling all hands, big and small ... Come roll up your sleeves, wash your hands and help create healthy, yummy food to share.
  • Imagination Station ... Dress up like a dragon, whip together a meal for the queen, practice your dolly dressing skills ... the options are endless.
  • Circle Time ... Every day after we have worked together to clean up our hall we pull out the mats and sit in a circle to sing songs.  Do you have a favorite you would like to share?

Kitchen activities occurring every week:

Tuesday: “Stone Soup Day”  Please bring in a vegetable, rice, pasta or spices to add to our huge soup pot that we will all share.

Friday: “French Toast Friday”  Please bring in eggs or a topping to share on our French Toast. (yogurt, fresh or canned fruit, apple sauce).

In addition to the above aforementioned activities, at LaFF you will also have the opportunity to work with fellow members in our community kitchen.  On Monday, Tuesday and Friday you can bring in an ingredient, roll-up your sleeve, wash your hands, and help create nutritious healthy meals. 

Family Frolic:

October - May

Day Time Location
Tuesday 5:45 - 6:45pm Ladysmith Parks and Rec. Centre.
Wednesday 6:30 - 7:30pm Aggie Hall

Family Frolic is the perfect opportunity for you and your child(ren), aged 0 to 6, to burn off energy before bedtime and have tons of fun doing it! Play with balls & tunnels, run around, and meet a new friend. $1/child donation suggested.

Support Providers:

Our visiting Partners and Supporters bring knowledge to our community in many ways, including:

  • Speech and Language Pathology to understand early childhood development,
  • Community Nutrition to promote optimal nutrition and health for our children and families,
  • Community Health Nursing to provide reassurance and understanding on issues of wellness, and
  • Dental Hygiene to deliver information for achieving excellent dental health
  • The Child Development Centre has a mandate to provide individualized services for children, from birth to age 19, and their families that promote optimum child development.

Are you a grandparent in your heart but have no grandchildren to share your time with?

Are you a senior who has a talent or gift you would like to share with our community of families?

We are interested in offering you the opportunity to share your skills.

Are you a knitter, sewer or woodworker?

Do you have a favorite story to read with children or a delicious recipe that you would like to share?
